Delfeir is Kris Cornelisse, an Australian man with a large gaming habit and an even larger collection of games forming my backlog. When not making a dent in this extensive library, I write all sorts of things ranging from fiction stories to non-fiction articles about… you guessed it, video games.
Having now written for and contributed to multiple sites, I’m confident in my ability to write compelling pieces across a wide range of games and topics. I’ve maintained this blog for multiple years, but most recently it has been revived and reformed in order to stand as an independent platform for my written content. I’ve proven to myself and others that I can write this stuff satisfactorily; now I just want to keep doing it and see where it gets me.
I’m not interested in writing news or following trends. However niche this might be, I aim to deliver in-depth discussions and insight into specific topics, titles, or genres in the gaming space. I want to explore titles new and old, dive into politics and stories, talk about design and games as art, and do all of this without worrying about analytics or whether it’s popular or not. The backlog is eternal, and it’s full of interesting games that I’d rather not just leave to time. And it’s my hope that I can present this stuff in an interesting and engaging way, no matter the relevancy of the topic to the zeitgeist.
If you’ve supported my work over the years, then thank you very much. I hope you’ll continue to do so as I take the plunge and really try to make something of this. Watch this space.
I am a regular host and editor of the Platformers Podcast as of Episode 276, after being promoted from guest appearance to standard fixture. For my most up-to-date takes and work, be sure to tune in there and catch the backlog of episodes, as I appear far more often there than I post here.
